The Mall of Georgia located in Buford, Georgia is home to Georgia’s largest shopping mall. The Mall of Georgia is conveniently located just 35 miles northeast of Atlanta. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes for an outdoor tour of Gwinnett Environmental and Heritage Center’s multi-surfaced trail system. Along the trail, there are covered picnic areas and pavilions to enjoy nature and have a packed lunch. Also outside is five miles of walking trails for groups to explore outside the guided nature walk tour. For kids, there is a Treetop Quest ropes course, with various obstacles and difficulty levels. The Treetop Quest is closed during the winter months, but reopens in early March, just in time for school field trip season! The Gwinnett Environmental and Heritage Center is Gwinnett’s first LEED-certified building, including a green roof, and eco-smart innovation throughout the facility. The building overlooks a waterfall with natural water and aquatic life such as tadpoles and turtles. The Gwinnett Environmental and Heritage Center would make a great field trip option for school groups traveling by charter bus.
