Marietta History Center

The Marietta History Center uniquely displays historical artifacts from many different time periods in Atlanta’s history. Dating back to the 1800s, there are several examples of different cultural pieces from Native American History, such as arrowheads, Cherokee language-translated Bibles, and original pottery pieces. Memorabilia from different significant Marietta businesses in the 1950s and beyond are also showcased, including a vintage telephone operator switchboard. There is also a display for the Boys & Girls Scouts with uniforms, badges, and other memorabilia from the club’s history. Featured in the museum is also a military section that has uniforms, memorabilia, and displays of educational facts from the Civil War, World War I, World War II, Korean War, Vietnam War, Gulf Wars, and War on Terrorism. There are also many different seasonal exhibits that rotate as new artifacts are brought into the museum. The Marietta History Center offers guided group tours for adults and student groups.
